Does it have anything to do with perfection, expensive high-end technology, or complicated rituals?
Our answer: not necessarily. Good record care begins above all with a conscious approach to handling vinyl.

To ensure your collection sounds good for a long time, some simple basic rules have proven effective in practice:

1. Cleanliness pays off – with every record

Whether bought new or found at a flea market: what looks clean isn't always. A thorough cleaning almost always pays off.

2. Remove dirt – do not spread it

Dust belongs in the groove, not deeper inside. Simply wiping it dry is usually not enough.

3. Vinyl likes it cool

Heat, direct sunlight, or even a hairdryer can damage the record. Gentle air drying at room temperature is the better option.

4. Respect for the groove

Handle records by the edge and the label – not on the playing surface. Fingerprints will be audible later.

5. After cleaning: a clean inner sleeve

A freshly cleaned record should not be put back into a dusty sleeve. New inner sleeves provide lasting protection for the sound and surface.

6. Antistatic properties make the difference

Statically charged records attract dust almost immediately. Antistatic care ensures that the sound remains stable for longer.

7. Don't forget the needle.

Even the cleanest record won't sound good with a worn stylus. It's the most sensitive – and crucial – element in the entire playback chain.
